Old Country Influences
Second generation American-Italian and Bay Area native for over 60 years, Tony was raised in a large Italian family. This unique family dynamic influenced his style of humor based on the many crazy and zany events that took place in his formative years. There were ample opportunities for gathering material from living with his 24 cousins, siblings, aunts and uncles in 3 SF Victorian flats bordering North Beach.
He developed his Italian-American accent listening to his grandparents and great aunts and uncles from the old country telling their stories. He hoaned his skills exercising his edgy sense of humor under the guidance of the Sisters of the Blessed Virgin Mary (BVM) in grammar school and the wine making and drinking Christian brothers from his high school years. He inherited his sense of humor from his parents, primarily his mother, Rose and his great aunt, Lena.
